   Three days of pain: What beginning snowboarders must go through in order to begin having a blast on a snowboard. Beginning snowboarders spend quite a bit of time on their fannies and on their knees. Falls that impact the hands and wrists can also be brutal. Hence, a relatively new phenomenon in the sport available to beginners: fanny pads, padded snowboardingpants, knee pads, and wrist guards available for sale and rental. Once these three days are survived, it is generally agreed that the subsequent learning curve toward a degree of proficiency is shorter than with learning to ski.

위 책에서 보면 서구에서도 보드 생초보의 험난한 첫 3일을 슬퍼하는 속어가 있답니다. 생초보더들은  주로 엉덩이와 무릅으로 시간을 보내며 넘어지면 엄청난 충격을 손목으로 감탕한다네요.. 그래서 각가지 보호장구의 등장이 최근 보이는 현상이라하구요.. 하지만 3일만 제대로 배우면 스키보다 엄청 빠르게 는다고  인정합니다.
